We cannot have a system where we consider other people’s right to life but they simply cannot do the same for other citizens.

Committing a crime is a choice.

Therefore if an individual takes the life of someone else, they too have given up their right to life.

If a motion is to be passed to reintroduce capital punishment, I would fully support it.

Guilty people must be given a ruling that fits the nature of the crime they have committed.

Murder cases should not be treated lightly. A bold statement must be made to indicate that such behaviour will never be tolerated.

The punishment should fit the crime.

We have seen the rise of femicide. Women and children are being brutally murdered, raped and physically abused; terrorism and treason throughout the world leave many civilians in critical conditions, if not dead.

People’s lives are disrupted daily and we continue to live in fear.

It has become unbearable to live on earth because of lawbreakers.

Stricter measures need to be implemented in the fight against such crimes.

Criminals no longer fear the consequences of committing these crimes.

This is shown through their despicable deeds.

They simply do not value the life of a human being anymore.

What is important here is having fair and equal justice for all.

Taking note that life cannot be replaced.

Legalising capital punishment will discourage criminal activities by installing the fear of consequences, which is something we lack.

We currently live in a country that has a high rate of murder and rape.

Criminals no longer fear prison, they actually appreciate the goods that come with being locked up behind bars such as free food, getting education, TV and having a bed to sleep on.

Waking up to hot water.

The idea of prison does not evoke enough fear for a criminal to refrain from committing such crimes.

This is also proven where criminals continue to repeat their crimes.

This type of punishment on perpetrators will also bring closure to the families affected by the crime.

It is needed for murder victims’ families to find healing and finality and to move on with their lives, including the execution of their loved one’s killer.

We cannot ignore that crime can have an emotional impact on people for the longest of time.

The death penalty will reduce crime rates, especially murder crimes.

Will also help rebuild the economy. The lesser the crime rates we have, the more we are going to be able to attract investors.

Money that should be used for the developing of the economy is being used on security and implementing protection.

Capital punishment can also be viewed as rehabilitation to the offender. When people are facing death they are more likely to want to repent, be honest and express a high level of remorse and regret.

They also tend to seek for spiritual rehabilitation.

And we cannot deny that those who are executed will never commit such crimes in the near future.
