“We are working around the clock to ensure the tracing and arrest of some of the suspects as a result of intensive investigation.”

Duduza – Thirteen suspects have been arrested in Duduza during numerous operations by the police in the past three days.

The operations began with a Detective Tracing Operation where members of the detective branch traced and arrested at least seven suspects for various crimes, including warrants of arrests, assault with intention to cause grievous bodily harm, housebreaking, theft, robbery as well as malicious damage to property.

Duduza police spokesperson Sgt Harry Manaka says the detectives adopted a proactive approach to the tracing of the suspects.

“This is to ensure all cases reported and dockets opened receive attention immediately and that suspects are brought to justice without delay.”

Manaka adds the crime prevention group also conducted an operation. They arrested suspects wanted for theft and possession of stolen property, and in collaboration with the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department, they arrest one suspect for dealing in drugs.

“The arrests were made under the action known as crime depending on police action; the crimes were not reported to the police.

“Police also work very close with the community in receiving and acting on information provided,” he explains.
