Ink Your Thoughts: Keep fit during the festive season

Reduce your workout time but don't stop exercising during the festive season.

With all the activities during the festive season and the back-to-school rush, it sometimes seems impossible to keep up with one’s exercise routines.

We often never exercise at all because we “don’t have time”.

The problem with this is that we tend to let loose and eat almost everything that comes our way and maybe throw exercise in the New Year’s resolution list.

Why do we become such determined fitness bunnies throughout the year, and let all that time and effort go to waste over the festive season?

At times you find that you have been working very hard for the past four months to get ready and fit into your Christmas outfit, but then stop working out and not even fit in your first-day-back-at-work outfit.

Never stop exercising, because it is not only to lose weight but to keep healthy, and we need to be even healthier during the time when we indulge in so many delicious treats.

Yes, we have many commitments and we want to relax a bit more, so instead of keeping to your strict and lengthy workout, rather reduce the time you spend on exercising.

In this way you still work out and have time to do the fun activities planned for the festive holiday break.

If you normally work out for an hour, you can reduce it to 30 minutes.

Walk a bit more and get to know your neighbourhood again, and if you are on holiday, rather opt to walk around the neighbourhood and give your eyes a fresh view all while still burning the fat.

Instead of stopping the workout and having to pick up where you left off, rather reduce the exercise, which will make it easier for when you decide to return to full-force exercising.
