Young boys groomed to become responsible citizens

“We have identified they are often left behind and many are becoming troublesome in the schools because no one is giving them the attention they deserve.”

KwaThema – Ndlondlobala Foundation hosted a Guy’s Talk seminar at the Christian Community Church on Saturday.

The event was held to speak to over 100 young men from the KwaThema secondary schools in Grade Eight to 11 on how to become responsible citizens.

During the seminar, motivational speakers and life coaches addressed the young men.

Founder of the organisation Nokuthula Fundama says through the seminar they focused on addressing the physical, emotional, social and spiritual aspects of what a man is.

“Although our organisation is set out to help groom a girl child, we decided to also bring a boy child into the programme.

“We have identified they are often left behind and many are becoming troublesome in the schools because no one is giving them the attention they deserve.

“They adopt behaviours from the street corners and not at home,” she explains.

Nokuthula says they strongly believe all is not lost and they can still groom the young men to become the best they can be.

“As much as we are all busy trying to make it in life, we should also make time to groom these young men.

“We are all responsible for the wrong decisions they make if we don’t take time out of our busy schedules to be there for them,” she says.
