Sanca opens offices in Tsakane

“We offer training, school and community awareness campaigns, referrals of patients to rehabilitation centres and the rehabilitation of patients and affected families.”

Tsakane – Drug users and those affected by drugs are encouraged to use the services of the new South African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (Sanca) offices in Extension 19, Tsakane.

Social worker Chegofatjo Bapela explains Sanca Eastern Gauteng started 26 years ago.

“The Sanca in Reiger Park and the office in Vosloorus merged in the same year, expanding their services to Springs and Brakpan.

“We decided to open the office in the area because we identified there is a dire need.

“Young people in the area abuse drugs and are unable to access such services,” she says.

She further explains they offer counselling for the family and individuals who are living with the addict.
