“I am your brother, so everything I have done and the mistakes I have made should serve as a warning to you. You don’t have to learn the hard way, just use the benefit of my experience,” says Kabelo ‘Bouga Love’ Mabalane, kwaito star and member of TKZee.

He admits that he almost ruined his life because he didn’t understand his purpose.

‘Bouga Love’ tells learners at the ‘Fighting the war on drugs and alcohol’ event that they can learn from his mistakes and make better choices. He has been clean from drugs for years.

“I always tell people not to ask me what drugs I used, but which ones I didn’t use. Because that would be easier to figure out,” he adds.

Sixty learners from Sizuzile Primary School received school uniform packages worth more than R1 000 each on Saturday.

Mabalane has been clean from drugs for 16 years.

“God doesn’t give you talent and influence just so that you can shine alone. But the purpose is always to improve the lives of those around you. The potential in this room is enormous. Make it count.”
