Metro responds to rumours of R2-million theft

Metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe says, “The Environmental Resource and Waste Management Services Department is aware of the alleged theft.

“The allegation has been reported to Loss Control and Internal Audit for a forensic investigation and the outcome thereof is pending.
“Answers to other questions will be known once the investigation is complete.
“Fuel was made available to affected depots.”
