Man robbed, hit with pistol in front of customers

Man robbed of thousands worth of groceries.

KwaThema – On January 27, at about 11.45am the complainant was busy with a customer when three unknown males entered his shop.

One suspect was in possession of a firearm and pointed it at the complainant.

He then hit the complainant with the back of the pistol.

The complainant’s hands were tied with a black cable tie and he was led to his room where his brother was.

In the room, the suspect took the amount of R2700.

The suspect went back into the shop with the complainant and his brother, and instructed them to lie down.

The other two suspects managed to take the following items: six cartons of cigarettes and two 2kg braai packs, all to the value of R1 300.

They also left with 58 tins and a 5kg packet of maize meal, to the value of R1 000.

No shots were fired.

The complainant sustained minor injuries to his head.

One suspect was arrested at the scene.

The other suspects fled the scene in a green Ford Leisure with no registration number.
