Music is the best remedy

Duduza – Sakhile ‘Black Treasure’ Mdlalose (30) fell in love with writing and the performing of music more than ten years ago, and he is still at it.

“I started writing in 2003 but I did not get into a recording studio until 2006.

I have since recorded three mixtapes,” explains Black Treasure.

He says his latest offering ‘Uphila kay’1’ (You only live once) is very special to him because it celebrates life.

The hip-hop artist says his music is not just about parties and girls but he is intent on sending a positive message to his fans.

“The fact that we only live once encourages people to follow their dreams and never to give up in life because time is always moving.”

He has also decided to venture into the business side of music.

“I have started my own record label, namely Nothing but love Productions.

“Music is my remedy for daily challenges.”

Treasure adds that in his music he also aims not to compromise the hip-hop culture.

“Punch lines and metaphors make it poetry.

“I just stick to the winning formula.”

He is currently working with an established producer on something interesting.

“My fans will get the single before we take it to radio,” he promised.
