Mob break into a house in KwaThema

“The men found the owner and allegedly assaulted him with the crow bar and demanded for money from him".

KwaThema- A 29-year-old resident was shot three times during a house break-in in Extension Three, in the early hours of Thursday morning.

It is alleged the neighbours were startled by a shooting in the area and immediately informed the police.

KwaThema police spokesperson, Capt Thabo Sibuyi, says the police received a complaint from a person at Dlamini Street about the crime.

“Upon their arrival at the given address, they found one of the tenants, who told them there was a shooting at around 12.30am, in the yard.

“It is alleged about eight men, two of them wearing balaclavas, broke into the shack with a crowbar and entered the home.

“The men found the owner and allegedly assaulted him with the crowbar and demanded money from him.

“They then shot him three times in the leg and stole two pairs of takkies,” he explains.

Sibuyi says the victim was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

“No arrest has been made regarding this matter.

“Police are asking for help from the community in tracing these men in order to bring the criminals to book,” he says.
