Kaizer Chiefs ready to defend Cup

"Orlando Pirates must forget about the past season and focus on the future".

Tsakane – Kaizer Chiefs Langaville branch members say they are ready to defend the upcoming Carling Black Label Cup on Saturday at the FNB Stadium.

Teka Phogolo Matsepane of Kaizer chiefs says they are confident and ready to defend the cup especially with the newly signed players who include Teenage Radebe (defender) and Philani Zulu (defender).

“We are hoping that Orlando Pirates has learned its lesson from the previous season after only winning 6 of their 60 games.

“We anticipate a 2-0 win but we want them to bring the game on and challenge us. We don’t want to humiliate them by walking all over them like we did in the previous season,” he says.

Rangwane Makgabutlane of Orlando Pirates says this is a new season and they are planning to start it with a clean slate.

“Orlando Pirates fans must forget about the past and focus on the future.

“This is a month of celebrating the legacy of the late Nelson Mandela; we will use the time to contribute our 67 minutes on the field by winning within the period.

“We have trust in Thabo Rakgale and Thamsanqa Kabuza,” he says.

Rangwane says transport for both teams will leave from KwaThema Pick n Pay at 9am.

“We are pleading to the supporters not to be late because we want to watch and enjoy the game without worrying about getting better seats.

“We have heard a rumour that there is a group of fans who are planning to walk out of the stadium during the games.

“We are calling for a non-violent protest and to give the players an opportunity to redeem themselves,” he says.
