Kasi gym helps women to keep fit

Local people are encouraged to to join local gym to keep fit and shed extra weight.

KwaThema – Local gym helps residents to keep fit and healthy without having to travel out of the community.

The sessions are conducted at KwaThema Community Hall on Monday to Thursdays from 6pm to 7pm.

Gym instructor Thuli Twala says Passion Fitness Gym was formed last year September after identifying the need for fitness in the area.

“I used to exercise at a gym out of the community and wanted to give back my skills to those who wanted to lose weight.

“Many women used to complain about not being able to afford gym membership fees, and as a result, they end up giving up to get back into shape.

“I was also concerned about the number of women who struggle to shed the extra weight after giving birth.

“They end up letting go and stop taking care of their health and this comes with many health complications which can be avoided,” she says.

Thuli says during the sessions they also encourage a sisterly environment where we share daily problems and see how we can help one another to overcome them.

“Women face many challenges in their lives and often bottle them up because they fear being judged or looked down at by others.

‘We create an environment where we share love and help one another overcome our fears and problems,” she says.

Thuli says those who are interested in joining their gym can contact her on 072 994 0657.

“It is never too late to start taking charge of your life and with a fit, healthy body and mind you can tackle any problem you come across,” she says.
