Community initiative helps learners to keep warm

Duduzekani Tshidisehang Community Projects donated school uniforms donated school uniforms to six primary schools in the area.

Duduza – Good Samaritans from Duduzekani Tshidisehang Community Projects donated school uniforms to four children of James Nkosi Primary school.

Educator Thembi Chapole, says they were happy when they received the offer from the organisation.

“Our school is based in a squatter camp and most of the parents are not working.

“We identified the most vulnerable children who are orphaned from disadvantaged backgrounds.

“It is heart-breaking to see some of the learners dressed in torn and worn-out school uniforms while others are well dressed.

“We try by all means to seek school uniform donation, especially from local business people.

“We are calling to others to come forward and help motivate a learner by donating school uniforms.

“Most of the learners who don’t have school uniforms feel small and are unable to perform at their best,” she says.

Thembi says they are grateful that they regularly benefit from the donation from the centre.

“If many community initiatives would join in their footsteps to help those in need we would have children who are motivated to learn,” she says.

Duduzekani Tshidisehang Community Projects, Katiso Rantlha says they decided to save funds to afford to donate school uniforms to the children from different primary schools in the area.

“We donated to six primary schools and we are looking to expand to cover more learners through the years.

“It pained us seeing some of the children wearing a home jersey while others didn’t have any,” he says.
