KwaThema – A night of fun soon turned sour after a man was shot dead and his wife sustained two gunshot wounds at Ekuthuleni Section, KwaThema Hostel on Saturday evening.
It is alleged that the suspects found the couple having drinks with five other people in their home.
KwaThema police spokesman, Captain Thabo Sibuyi, says the one suspect who was carrying a firearm, then allegedly first shot the wife twice but she managed to escape to seek help.
“During that time they also shot her husband, Dayzimeni Ntshona (47), who tried to run but fell close to the door.
“He was later declared dead on the scene by paramedics.
“The wife was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
“The police are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder and asks for anyone with information to contact KwaThema Detectives on 011 812 4600,” he says.
