Mr Face of KwaThema ready to fight drugs

KwaThema – Newly-crowned Mr Face of KwaThema 2016 winner, Sizwe Mngomezulu, is ready to serve his community diligently.

During his reign Sizwe has organised motivational and fundraising events to help NGOs in the area.

Sizwe will be hosting The Anchor motivational event at KwaThema Hall on June 9, from 9am, where he will be addressing some of the challenges the youth face.

“I have been visiting schools in the area to give motivational talks and one of the challenges I was told about is drug addiction.

“I decided to organise an event to motivate the youth to stay away from drugs.

“Many young people experiment with drugs and end up being hooked.

“But if we teach them and run awareness campaigns about the dangers of drugs we will be able to save many young people,” he says.

He says there is more to life than throwing it away on drugs.

“Drugs are a lifetime sentence and many find it hard to stop taking them.

“The users often commit crimes to feed their addiction and end up with criminal records,” he says.

He says motivational speakers and officials from rehabilitation centres will also be present at the event.

“There will also be young entrepreneurs and artists who will be given an opportunity to showcase their talent and skills,” he says.
