Amanda Black on the bill for jazz fest

The fifth edition of the Business Premium Jazz Festival will take place on June 3 with Amazulu singing sensation, Amanda Black, and the forever-in-season trio The Soil on the bill.

This jazz spectacular, which will take place at Carnival City, also features soul crooners, Afrotraction, and the 2015 winner of SA Idols, Karabo Mogane.

“Fans are in for a super show with a diverse array of celebrated local artists,” says Michelle Smith, marketing manager at Carnival City.

Amanda Black is a bubbly singer and songwriter from the Eastern Cape.

She was a season 11 SA Idols contestant and recently released her first album titled “Amazulu”.

The Soil performs what they describe as “Kasi Soul” – an eclectic mix of musical genres such as jazz, hip hop, Afro-pop and Afro-soul.

They strive to fuse their harmonious voices to deliver melodies with deep and meaningful messages which aim to uplift and heal souls.

After winning the SA Idols competition in 2015, Karabo has been travelling the country performing songs from his albums, Love is a Verb and Matter of the Heart which were released in 2015 and 2016 respectively to positive acclaim.

He will perform songs from both albums, including “Ding Dong” and “Khakhathi”.

Afrotraction will mesmerise the audience with hits such as “Imali ya malobolo” and “Ngiphelele”.
