Local businessman robbed

KwaThema - A local businessman was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money on Monday morning.

It is alleged that the businessman was on his way to buy stock for his shop when two armed suspects pounced on him and demanded money.

KwaThema Police spokesman, Warrant Officer Peter Tebeila, says they forced the man out of the car and escorted him to the store where his colleague was still inside.

“They threatened to shoot them if they didn’t give them the money and the victims gave them the money.

“No one was injured but the suspects managed to flee with the money.

“The suspects have not been arrested. We are calling to anyone with information about the suspects’ whereabouts to contact KwaThema Police on 011 812 4608,” he says.
