Helping you get ripped

KwaThema - Bafana Manake (32) of Green Apple Gym, together with Isa Nasir (30), owner of Beast Gym, have partnered up to encourage people to live healthier lives with their 12-Week Transformation Challenge.

“We registered 40 participants from both Green Apple and Beast to take part in the challenge,” says Manake.

He says that the participants had very different goals.

“Some of them wanted to gain weight, because they were underweight. Others just wanted to bulk up,“ he explains.

The challenge started on the first of February and will end on May 30.

On Saturday the participants will come together, at Green Apple Gym, 27 Dladla Street in KwaThema, to reveal their achievements and to motivate others to join the programme.

“We will even have before-and-after photos,” says Manake.

Isa Nasir says that they have made personal trainers available and held workshops to equip the participants with as much information as possible.

“It was the best possible environment for them to reach their targets.”

Beast Gym, in Springs, will host the same event at the end of June with new participants.

Manake also urges women to join the gym as bodybuilders.

“The opportunities for female bodybuilders are endless. We need to take advantage of this platform and get as many people in as possible.”

The two fitness gurus invite other gym owners to join the initiative.

“We want as many people as possible to come through. There will be plenty of games and entertainment for the little ones as well.”
