New hangout for artists

Tsakane - Siphiwe Giba has created a hub, the Wolf and Co. Café, for creatives to network and brainstorm, right in that middle of ekasi. The launch was last Friday.

“I’m a hippie who just loves being outdoors, and I am all about healthy living.

“But, I’m also an artist,” says Giba.

He explains this reflects his need for inspiration, collaboration and freshness.

“A lot of people go to Jozi to source skills others have right here, but because we don’t know each other, we can’t work together.”

Giba says the space is not just a café but a safe environment for creatives and artists to meet and share ideas.

“It is an escape because it is very different from the hood.

“Out there it’s hectic and there is always something going on.”

Dineo Mathole, one of the guests at the launch, says she believes it is a great initiative.

“Now we don’t have to go very far to have a good cup of coffee.

“It’s growth for pop culture in Kwatsaduza.”

Lelo Mawela adds: “I am very happy to see the spirit of entrepreneurship is alive.

“This is beautiful.”

Another guest, Lelo Motsoane, explains it is important to support such initiatives.

“This is authentic, not another shisa nyama around the corner.

“I can’t wait to see it grow.”

Giba says he has many other projects on the cards, including yoga and cycling.

We can’t wait!
