Two ATMs bombed in KwaThema

KwaThema - Two ATMs were bombed at a supermarket on Shabangu Street at 2.40am last Tuesday.

Capt Thabo Sibuyi, spokesman for the KwaThema police, says an on-duty police officer received a notification from one of the bank’s offices that a panic alarm had gone off.

“He also received a notification from radio control that a bombing had taken place,” says Sibuyi.

“Patrol vehicles went to the scene and it was found that two ATMs had been bombed at the same location.”

Explosives experts were called to the scene as well as other relevant parties.

An undisclosed amount of money was found on the scene and booked in at the police station.

An unknown amount of money was stolen.
