According to the police’s Capt Thabo Sibuti, the complainant was walking along Mohlabi Street in Riverside at about 6pm when the incident occurred.
The two men approached the complainant and one allegedly took out a firearm and pointed it at him.

The second man searched the 53-year-old man and managed to take the complainant’s licensed 9mm firearm from his waist.
Thereafter, the duo instructed the complainant to run away.
Police are still investigating a case of armed robbery.
