This follows the learners’ participation in and winning of the OR Tambo Project, which took place at the Tsakane Customer Care Centre on Friday.

“Our school was one of among four, that were chosen to participate in an essay writing competition about the history of OR Tambo.

“The other schools included Michael Zulu Primary, Lebone Primary and Khombindlela Primary.

“Six of our learners were then chosen as the best writers of the historical essays – and were awarded with certificates,” says teacher Nonhlanhla Mtshali.

She adds that as a school, they’re very proud of these young people.

“We also thank the Ekurhuleni municipality for this opportunity, as it not only helps in developing the children’s writing skills, but also ensures that they know about our history,” she says.
