Seniors need community’s help to raise funds

Kwatsaduza – The Botle Botle Old Age Home is asking for the help of the community as they plan to host a gala event to raise funds for a place of residence for seniors.

“We would like to have an area where our pensioners can stay in a safe environment as some live alone or stay alone during the day.

“Currently we cater for 90 members from Duduza and Tsakane who attend Monday to Friday.

“And during this time, our members don’t just get food but also participate in various activities including handcrafts, concerts and music,” says chairman Mapule Ratona.

She adds that if they can succeed with this plan, it would mean that they can cater for more seniors.

“Tickets that are being sold for the gala will ensure each individual a meal, juice and entertainment.

“We plead with the community, local government and businesses to come through and support us,” she adds.

The event will run from 1pm to 4pm on November 5, at the Duduza Gym Hall, at 1688 corner Jacobs and Monakale streets near the Duduza Stadium.
