Police investigate rape

KwaThema - Local police are investigating a kidnapping and alleged rape of a 53-year-old woman at an unknown KwaThema house.

According to police spokesman Capt Thabo Sibuyi, the complainant was standing at the corner of Nkosi Street on September 12, at about 3.30pm, when an unknown woman approached her.

“The unknown woman told the complainant they should go together to her place.

“But when she refused, the woman then grabbed the complainant’s hand and forced her to go to her place, where the complainant was forced into a room with a certain unknown man in it.

“The man and woman then allegedly locked the woman in the room without food for days and she was repeatedly raped until she was released on September 21,” he says.

Sibuyi adds that though no arrests have been made, they are investigating a case of kidnapping and rape.
