One dies and four injured in taxi shootout
Daveyton – One person has died while four others have been injured and are in a critical condition following a shootout on the N12 west near Daveyton this morning.
Though it is unclear at this stage who and how many suspects are involved in the incident, nor the cause of the shooting, ER24 in a statement says it appears the people were travelling in a taxi when one or more suspect’s opened fire.
“When paramedics arrived on the scene, they found what appeared to be several bullet holes in the taxi.
“Paramedics started assessing patients and found that a female had sadly succumbed to her injuries.
“Two patients were airlifted to hospital and two were transported to hospital by ambulance for medical treatment,” says ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing Harduth.
The African Reporter has attempted to contact the Daveyton police regarding the incident and are still awaiting response.
