RDP crowned champs

Tsakane – Soccer supporters gathered to show their support when RDP took on Tsakane in the final of the Siyadlala Cup Tournament.

The nail-biting match was played on the Malandela Ground, on Sunday afternoon.

In the first half, Tsakane took the lead, as they were more dominant and led in ball possession.

The team played largely on RDP’s half of the field, as their opposition seemed unprepared, and this was soon evident, as Tsakane’s Paul Serame and Khehla Mdali managed to score two goals.

In the second half, RDP made three changes, which gave them the upper hand.

But the game changer, which proved to the secret weapon, was Asaf Rantu, who managed to steer his team back in the right direction.

Tsakane, on the other hand, seemed to be a bit tired and didn’t make enough changes to maintain their lead, which cost them the game.

Thabiso Marumo and Rantu then managed to score two goals, which helped RDP to equalise.

Both sides missed out on some attempts at goals close to the end, leaving the match to finish on 2-2.

As the two sides went head-to-head in the penalty shootout, RDP managed to walk away with the win after scoring 5-4.
