As the first drew to an end Zest had scored nine while Diski Diva had only managed to keep one goal in the net.

In the second quarter Zest slowed down the pace only managing to score four more goals, leaving Diski Divas to only increase their score with two.

Goals game flying in again in the third quarter as the leading team took more shots which ended this segment at 24 and opponents strolling in at six.

Diski Diva registered a few more goals in the last quarter with the final score ending at 26 goals for Zest and 11 for Diski Diva.

One of the match facilitators, Matumelo Tjabadi explained that these games were aimed at selecting a team which would represent KwaThema in some upcoming tournaments.

“On June 25 we will have a netball tournament, which is why we are selecting girls who will represent us as KwaThema.

“This is part of a build-up to that tournament and we are pleased with the level of skill these girls have shown.

“Normally the teams play friendly games but want to form a structure where teams from Tsakane, Duduza and KwaThema can compete against each other, as we find that around Kwatsaduza the young people are there, but there’s a lack of sponsors and community support,” she said.
