There’s no stopping Sweetkid
KwaThema - Kgotso Makgale (stage name Sweet Kid) is a genius who is considered to be a new breed of musical talent, with an interminable sound.
Born and bred in KwaThema, he fell in love with Rap music as soon as he discovered that it existed and, at the age of 14, he started to write music at school, during lessons, and has never stopped.
With more than six years of experience in making rap music he can boast airplay on 20 campus radio and local FM stations, including Unisa Radio, Vow FM and NWU Radio.
His catalogue of three mixtapes in a period of two years – “Hunger Fridays” Volumes One and Two, followed by ”The Road to Egotist Mixtape” – proved his potential and certainty of talent.
September 28, 2011 marked the day of his first EP release, titled ”The Egotist”, which downloaded more than 2 000 times, through data file host.
Sweet Kid successfully moved on to bigger things in 2014, bringing about a huge shift to his career as his first music video was aired on Channel O’s SA Hip Hop Bangers.
In 2015 he went on to release his well-accepted single, titled “All Day”, which led to him becoming one of the most valuable musicians in his category.Sweet Kid’s outstanding stage performances compliment his character and music.
He has performed at various events, such as the Cuff Yo Chick 2015 Edition, the CanDo Turn Up Tour 2015, the Skwatta Kamp Campus Tour and many others.
“My talent is too genuine for it to be ignored; where there’s will there’s a way,” says the artist.
