Learners visit local bakery

Tsakane - Learners of David Bopape ECD Crèche visited Dilibe General Management and Service, a bakery inside Tsakane Old Age Home on Wednesday.

According to school teacher Nosipho Twala the crèche is currently having a healthy living theme, where they are educating the learners about where different foods are made and how healthy they are.

“Our curriculum entails for us to encourage and educate our learners about the importance of choosing a healthy lifestyle and knowing what different foods do to nourish our bodies,” says Twala.

The children will also visit butcheries and a fast food shop.

Founder of the bakery, Enoch Dladla, says he is pleased the children came to visit the bakery so they are aware of what they eat and how it’s made.

“I’m happy about the visit and I want more young people to come and see how we make bread and other confectionery.

“You never know, one day they can have their very own,” says Dladla.

Community members are still invited to attend the flour confectionery programme which Dladla runs at the home.
