Women elders shown care
KwaThema - A sum of 21 female senior citizen were spoilt with blankets and food parcels last Sunday in KwaThema.
Christ The Rock Bible Church in KwaThema wanted to show appreciation to the many old women in the community that do so much for their families and community.
The senior citizens were identified by church members and church task team.
According to Pastor John Mahlangu a task team at the church discovered that a lot of senior citizens take care of their grandchildren in the community and no one takes care of them.
“So we wanted to acknowledge them for their commitment to their families by doing something special for them.
“We have focused on elderly women now and will do so for male senior citizens during the month of June as Father’s Day draws near,” says the pastor.
The church also encourages the community to take care of senior citizen in the community because they play a very important role and are a pillar of strength.
