Malemela’s love for soccer runs deep
KwaThema – Ace Auto Ayoba has a self-proclaimed number one supporter.
Given Malemela, a former player of the football club, says he is ever present at every game to see his local team to victory.
“Ever since Innocent Mayoyo formed the team, I made up my mind that I want to belong to to it, be it playing for the team or supporting the team.
“Rooting for my local team gives me so much joy because I see a lot of talent in my community that has the potential to go national and international,” says the supporter.
Being a former goalkeeper for Ayoba, Malemela claims he was inspired by Mayoyo to play the position since Mayoyo was a goalkeeper for one of South Africa’s biggest football clubs, Orlando Pirates.
The avid supporter adds that supporting local sports is imperative in the community, where there is so much crime that our youth are involved in.
“I go to every match because some of the players don’t even get support from family; having supporters also boosts the players’ confidence,” he says.
He says he wants to see football development in KwaThema thrive and local soccer players playing professionally one day.
“I thank Mayoyo for his passion for football, because he has groomed many aspirant soccer players who are now making waves in development football,” he adds.
