Man allegedly brutally kills wife, three daughters in Tsakane

Langaville – The SAPS have launched a manhunt for a foreign national husband who allegedly killed his wife and three children by slitting their throats, the deceased were discovered by neighbours on Thursday morning.

According to local police spokesman Capt Petros Mabuza, on Thursday at about 8am neighbours discovered a foreign national woman (in her 30s) and three daughters of nine months, seven years and 11 years respectively lying dead in the bedroom of their rented Langaville Extension Five home.

Neighbours have described the wanted suspect to the police as a violent man who also seemed very depressed.

“One of the neighbours who last saw the deceased mother and her children on Monday got worried after having not seen them for days, so they called another neighbour to go check on them at the house.

“Upon arrival the key was still intact in the keyhole of the door, but when neighbours walked in, they were greeted by an unbearable stench.

“When they got into the bedroom, they made the gruesome discovery of the wife and the children, all on the bed with open stab wounds on the upper bodies, slit throats and all faced in one direction,” says Mabuza.

He adds that it appears as though all the victims were killed in the one place as there was no blood found in the other parts of the house, and from the police observations, it showed that the suspect used sharp objects to murder the victims.

Neighbours say the family had been renting in this RDP home for over a year but they did not hear anything prior to the killings, added the police.

A case of murder is being investigated by the police and no arrests have been made as the suspect is still on the run.

Mayor of Ekurhuleni Mondli Gungubele condemns and describes the killing as ‘barbaric’.

“This is a very barbaric incident and whoever is behind this must be arrested as soon as possible and locked away for a long time. Who in their right mind would murder so many people in such a horrible manner?”

“I am still trying to recover from this shock. In fact, as a parent I have shivers going down my spine when I try to imagine that scene,” says Gungubele.

He appeals to the community to work with the police in finding those behind the crime.
