VIDEO: Tshabangu dreams to be a professional sports commentator

Langaville - Local young man Mduduzi Tshabangu (24) is definitely spicing things up on soccer fields around the township. You don't want to miss watching this.

He sits on the grandstands like everyone else at the start of Langaville FC games, but what makes him stand out from the bunch is that when the whistle blows, he starts commentating on the match for other supporters watching with him.

“My passion for commentating started in 2010 as I was listening to some international commentator who made the games so enjoyable that I got inspired to do this.

“I am just having fun and doing what I love, as I am also a player for Langaville FC.

“So on my off days, I sit on the grandstands and sometimes ask the people around me if I can do this, as some get irritated by it while other love my commentating,” he says.

He adds that he is passionate about soccer and that this is his way of showing support for his team. It makes their games fun and it helps push the guys to work harder, because if they win the Premier League they get a promotion to the Castle League, as they are currently sitting in second position on the log.

Though this it not a daily thing for Tshabangu, he says he would like to turn it into a professional career one day.

“After completing my matric I studied political science and church leadership at the University of Pretoria.

“However, I have not studied anything related to media or commentating, as it’s just my God-given talent.

“My wish to is to get exposure locally and in the long run see myself going to where the milk and honey is, at SuperSport, so I can make some money,” he says with a laugh.
