Respect and protect our children

I was touched by the story of a 9-year-old girl who was raped in Motsogi Street, White City, KwaThema, recently.

I then began to ask myself some questions.

  • Do those people, who rape, understand that our children are our future leaders?
  • Why then destroy them?
  • Are we going to be led by emotionally bruised leaders?

Every behaviour has a root cause and some of the things that happen to us when we are younger, have a way of haunting us, creating anger, resentment and a feeling of guilt.

This is the same anger that will give birth to unpleasant and questionable behaviour.

I then urge our brothers, uncles, fathers and friends to value and respect every child so that together we can build a peaceful, beautiful and safe country for them.
