New school shoes for local learners

KwaThema - Last Sunday the Word of Truth Family Church in KwaThema donated 59 pairs of school shoes to learners at KwaThema Primary School.

The church celebrated their academic day, where graduates and matriculates who passed last year were honoured for their achievements.

Through honouring the students who did well in last year’s academic year, Hlomolani Social Development Programme, which forms part of the church, wanted to do something for underprivileged learners from a local school.

Church pastor, Patience Ngwenya, says she is very happy that as a church they could fulfil their vision to help learners who can’t afford school shoes for the academic year ahead.

“The shoes may not be much but it will make a difference to the many who can’t afford it,” she says.

Parents of learners who received the school shoes were happy for the act of kindness from the local church.

“We are very happy that our children will have new school shoes for the year ahead. As parents we don’t always have the money to buy new shoes every year,” say the overjoyed parents.
