Extension Eight win against City Royal

KwaThema - The Tsamaya Top Eight Knockout leg kicked off last Sunday at the Tlakula Grounds where Extension Eight beat City Royals 2-1.

The first day of the re-opening of the league saw spectators coming in their numbers to witness the top eight teams from last season battle it out.

Teams seemed less prepared for the match as they struggled to gain momentum on the field.

Extension Eight came better prepared for the game as they proved to be more quicker and faster with the ball.

Thomas Msibi of Extension Eight nabbed the first goal for his team just minutes into the game, putting much needed pressure on City Royal to pick up their pace.

City Royal appeared to have no game plan, as many shots on target ended up to be goalless.

This was an advantage to Extension Eight who put out their best on the pitch.

Going into the second half, both teams were motivated to get more goals as none of them wanted to be knocked out of the challenge.

After much dribbling and passing City Royals‘ Calvin Nkosi scored the equalising goal in the last minutes of the match.

Just when they thought they would draw the game, Extension Eight’s Sydney Mkabane extended the lead, ending the match with a 2-1 win for Extension Eight.
