Year end statement by Duduza SAPS station commander

Duduza - The station commander of Duduza SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Louise Droskie, would like to take this opportunity to share her remarks about the past year regarding policing in Duduza.

She says the past year has been to a great extent a successful year as they have built a stronger and positive relationship with their community by various initiatives internally and externally.

“Our Community Policing Forum is active under the leadership of Lucas Mbokazi, thereby ensuring the community’s concerns and comments are addressed, while the sector policing framework is strongly in place, ensuring effective 24-hour policing.

“The Duduza SAPS is proud to say that we feel our tasks have been carried out with pride and professionalism.

“We have also enjoyed the support of the community through interaction and look forward to this partnership growing from strength to strength,” she says.

Droskie adds that their bonds with the community will be strengthened even more in the coming years.

“We have overcome numerous challenges this past year, have emerged stronger and better, and look forward to taking back the street from criminals ensuring a safer Duduza.

“In addition, we have strengthened our relationship with various government and non-governmental organisations, such as EMPD, Customer Care Centre, LifeLine, Interfaith Ministries and many more in order to strengthen and improve our ability to deliver efficient services,” she says.

The SAPS urges people to adhere to the law over the holiday season, abstain from drinking and driving and accept that the increase in the intensity of police actions is necessary to ensure everyone’s safety.

“As the Duduza SAPS we would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable festive season, a very merry and blessed Christmas and a bright and prosperous New Year.

“May God give us the strength, wisdom and guidance to ensure a safe environment for all.

“And above all, we look forward to 2016 as a stronger and better police service ready and eager to serve,” says Droskie.
