Festive activities for the little ones

Festive holidays normally end up as a boring time for children, as they normally find themselves stuck at home with nothing but the television to watch.

But this does not always have to be the case, as there are options available to ensure they have some fun time over the holidays.

  • Get your children to play sports or games which at least requires them to get active by playing indigenous games or even taking them for a walk around the neighbourhood.
  • Take your children for a day out to the park for a picnic.
  • Encourage craft projects.
  • Go out to a theme park with the family for some fun and games.
  • Spend time with them in the kitchen to bake or make tasty treats.
  • Just because schools are closed doesn’t mean your children can’t read, so encourage them to read just for pleasure.
  • Take them to watch a movie at the cinema.
  • Keep an eye over the children whilst they cool off in a pool.
  • Get them to clear out their cupboards of toys and clothes they don’t use, then donate these to a home or shelter.
  • Put up Christmas decorations as a family.

If as a parent you will be working over the holiday season, try and organise for someone to keep an eye on your children and to keep them entertained.
