Tsakane Old Age Home receives donation

Tsakane – Four charities around Kwatsaduza recently received a R10 000 donation each from a local property group.

Tsakane Old Age Home was one of the organisations identified to benefit from this donation.

Last Friday the company’s director, Simon Ntshangase, and Clr Dorah Mlambo handed over the R10 000 cheque to Phoko Mongale, manager of the Tsakane Old Age Home.

The property company recently partnered with the City of Ekurhuleni in hosting the Ekurhuleni Summer Splash that took place at the Tsakane Stadium.

Ntshangase says as a token of appreciation to the community of Kwatsaduza that came to support the event, they wanted to do something special for charities who are in need of assistance.

“It’s important as an organisation to give back to the communities that make our events a success and continuously support us,” he says.

“I’m grateful for the generous deed from the company, this will make a huge difference to the home as we draw close to Christmas,” says Mongale. He says the money will be used to buy groceries at the home and to organise a Christmas party for the residents. “Some of our senior citizens don’t have families to go to during the Christmas holidays, so we will make it extra special for them with the money donated,” says Mogale.

The other charities who received donations are KwaThema Old Age Home, the Early Childhood Development Centre in Duduza and the Tholakele Orphanage in KwaThema.
