Sexual health education highlighted

Tsakane – In the spirit of promoting safe sex in the community, on Tuesday, the Love Life crew from Tsakane conducted a condom distribution campaign in Extension 15.

The campaign was headed by groundbreakers (educators) Mxolisi Zwane and Lebogang Mogagabe, and supported by Sam Shakwane head promoter, from the Calcot Dlephu Clinic in Tsakane.

“Through this initiative, we are encouraging the youth in our community to either abstain from or practice safe sex and to know more about HIV/Aids.

“We hope this will help in bringing an improvement in the behaviour patterns of young people in our surroundings.

“We also still encourage other young people to join Love Life, so that as the future generation we can all work together to fight against HIV/Aids,” says Mogagabe.

She adds that they would like to add 20 new members to their existing team, as the area is large and more can still be done in sexual health education.

People between 12 and 25 years old can join the Love Life team.

“On December 3, our team will embark on a door-to-door campaign, teaching members of the community more about HIV/Aids, as part of World Aids Day celebrations.

“We will be meeting at the Calcot Dlephu Clinic from 10am and invite all young people to join us,” adds Mogagabe.

People who want to join in on the activities of the day can contact Lebo Mogagabe on 082 383 4294 or Mxolisi Zwane 074 410 5299.
