Skoomboys win 1-0 against Geluksdal

Tsakane – Skoomboys managed to beat Geluksdal 1-0 during a Tsamaya League game which took place at the Mandela Grounds in Tsakane on Sunday.

The game started with both teams putting up a united front on both ends.

However, this was short lived minutes into the first half of the game, as Skoomboys started to be the more dominant side, attacking more and having more shots at goals.

Things did not go as the team had hoped and Skoomboys failed to score any goals.

Geluksdal came back into the game a few minutes before the end of the first half after they attempted to defend more, and this worked for them, because in the end of the first half, both teams had no goals in hand.

The second half kept spectators on their toes as a more composed Geluksdal came to the party, being more aggressive with their shots at goals.

But, it was the tougher attack of Skoomboys that got them the winning goal.

The goal was scored by Ben Mazibuko five minutes before the end of the second half.

In the last few minutes of the game, Geluksdal fought to equalise, but this was not successful.

When they did manage to put the ball in the net, the referee had already blown the whistle for a foul and the goal did not count.

Geluksdal attempted to bag another goal a minute before the end of the match but failed, leaving Skoomboys to walk away with the victory.
