Ministers discuss church matters

KwaThema – The Council of South African Christian Ministers held their second general council meeting of the year at the KwaThema council chamber this week.

Ministers from Tembisa, Duduza, KwaThema, Tsakane and Wattville were among those who attended the meeting.

“We are bringing together these groups who form part of the national council, so we can discuss matters concerning the church and the community.

“Through this, we are uniting the Body of Christ, to be of impact in the communities we serve.

“We are happy with the response of the number of ministers coming forward,” says chairman, Rev Amos Nkosi.

During the meeting, some of the matters arising included the organisational formation of the council, vision and strategies of the organisation and mobilising of other groups.

There was also talks on the issue of removal of Christian holidays, the manipulation of the gospel by some pastors, crime and drugs and matters in schools and in the community.

“We need to pray for a lot of issues including peace, crime and killing of police in our country.

“We invite other fraternals to come on board so that we can work together as the church.

“The next meeting will be hosted on November 7,” says Rev Solly Ngwenya.
