Organisations want better education for learners

Daveyton - The Daveyton Stand Up Committee and Daveyton Event Management have secured bursaries for eight learners at Dumehlezi Primary School in Daveyton.

The organisations approached different companies to assist learners who show academic excellence in their schools.

Chairperson of the Daveyton Stand Up Committee, Nsizwa Mahlangu (38), explained the organisation aims to put as many learners, who are doing well academically in schools, where their skills can be developed to their full potential.

“We want our future scientists and engineers to get the best education possible in the country, hence we have sourced bursaries from various companies to assist us in placing them in good schools, “says Mahlangu.

Mahlangu addsthat recipients of the bursaries are learners in grades six and seven.

Samuel Mabena (54), a bursary recipient’s parent, says he is happy his daughter has been chosen hopes these bursaries will alleviate the stress of parents.

“ I’m overwhelmed that such opportunities have been granted to our children, we hope they will pass all the tests and move to better education,” he says.
