KwaThema - The Ekurhuleni Environmental Organisation will host a public dialogue to discuss climate change in an continued effort to raise awareness about air pollution.

Since 2009 the organisation has been educating KwaThema residents about air pollution and the dangers caused by vehicle emissions and nearby mines and companies.

Sandile Nombeni, the organisation’s organiser, says the Ekurhuleni Environmental Organisation hosts free dialogues to provide residents with the opportunity to raise their concerns about air pollution and climate change.

The next climate change dialogue will be hosted at the Holyness Church in Majola Street, KwaThema on August 10 with discussions commencing at 9am.

Nombeni says they aim to raise awareness of the problems caused by air pollution by conducting research and writing articles about the dangers of inhaling polluted air and how to prevent air pollution.

She adds that at the dialogue, female members of the organisation will launch their new booklet. “The booklet is aimed at helping other women in and around Kwatsaduza deal with the challenges they face everyday,” says Motloung.
