This came about after the suspect forced entry into his girlfriend’s room, in Motsugi Street, KwaThema, last Saturday.
KwaThema police spokesman Capt Mandla Phori says the argument between the couple resulted in the suspect assaulting the victim in front of her four-year-old son.
He adds that police are investigating a case of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The suspect was arrested and is expected to appear in the KwaThema Magistrates Court on a charge of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
