Bongani takes Mambas to a win

Tsakane - The Tsamaya Siyadlala Tournament game between Sporo and Mambas saw the Mambas winning on penalties.

The match took place at the Malandela Ground on Sunday, and, during the first half, it was clear that both teams had worked hard to prepare for the encounter.

After 20 minutes in the first half Sifiso Zwane, of Mambas, scored the first goal of the game.

The action continued, with Sporo fighting for an equalising goal, which they got through Andries Kope’s foot, 15 minutes after the opponents’ goal.

The referee blew the whistle to end the first half with a 1-1 draw.

In the second half, the game became more interesting as players from both sides fought hard to register a second goal under their name.

Neither side managed to put a winning goal into the net, however, and the game had to go to penalties to determine the winner.

Mambas’ goalie Bongani Mtshali saved all four penalties shot by Sporo, and the Mambas won by 2-0 on penalties.
