Local to play for Gauteng
KwaThema- Spartan Netball Club player Bongeka Kubheka (19) has been chosen to play for the Gauteng u/21 netball team.
She will represent the Gauteng region in August, at the South African National Netball Championships in KwaZulu-Natal.
Kubheka, who is an avid netball player, was chosen to play for the Gauteng netball team during the Gauteng Netball Championships, early this month, when she was representing the Ekurhuleni u/19 netball team.
The Spartan player, who plays goalkeeper on the court, says she is still in shock that she has made it this far, despite the many good players around Gauteng.
“I never thought I would make it this far, because there are a lot of good players out there,” says Kubheka.
She is training intensely with her local netball team, Spartans, so she is prepared for the championships, which are coming soon.
“I’m grateful to all my coaches who have contributed to me being such a good player today,” she adds.
