SAPS link dead man to several crimes

The body of a man was found in Bakerton on Sunday at 6.45pm.

Springs Crime Prevention Unit members were on routine patrol when they were stopped by a community member claiming he heard gunshots in First Avenue.

Upon investigation, police discovered the body of a man with six gunshot wounds to the face.

The deceased was identified as a suspect involved in a hijacking that took place in Bakerton last Wednesday.

Springs police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says the man is also linked to several other business robberies and hijackings.
