The 50-year-old man was on duty at Nkumbulo Comprehensive School along Joe Mzamane Drive when he was attacked by an unknown suspect on June 13, at around 8pm.
Springs police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says the man had been fighting for his life in the Parkland Clinic in Springs, until his death on Saturday.
He says no arrest has yet been made and police are investigating a case of murder.
