This follows a fight which took place in a shebeen at the Ekuthuleni Informal Settlement in KwaThema.
Capt Mandla Phori of KwaThema police says a police officer on duty received a call from a community member informing him of the fight.
On arrival, police officers saw a man covered in blood.
Three men, aged between 31 and 46, were arrested.
